R & B Rockdrillers Ltd Contract History

R & B Rockdrillers have maintained a long lasting working relationship with Darrington Quarries since 1968. Although Darrington Quarries have now become FCC Environment we are proud to still be providing services for all of their quarries.

Between 1968 and 1995, a time period that included the peak times of the UK mining era, R & B Rockdrillers successfully provided drilling and blasting services to several of Miller Mining’s large opencast coal sites.

Since 1970 to present day despite numerous changes of names from Steetly to Redlands to Lafarge and now to Tarmac one constant has been that R & B Rockdrillers have provided Drilling and Blasting services at several of the companies quarry sites across the UK.

Since the company began in 1968 R & B Rockdrillers has shown its flexibility and demonstrated its engineering knowledge on many occasions. A few more notable private projects would include;

1975 Ogdens of Otley Drilling and blasting Stornoway harbour Outer Hebrides to produce an area for North Sea oil rig maintenance

1976 Fairclough Parkinson Drilling and blasting shafts for the transfer of water from the river Lune to the river Wyre to supply Manchester area

1978 Cemantation Mining Drilling and blasting drift shaft for N.C.B Maltby Colliery

In addition to the above R & B Rockdrillers have also provided and undertaken successful Drilling and consultation services for both the Leeds and Bradford City council’s as well as British Rail.
